new free memberships: Sirens (CO, USA); Imaginarium (KY, USA)

Fans of color/non-white fans: the following new memberships are available free, first-come first-served:

Imaginarium Convention, October 6-8, 2017, Louisville, KY, USA. Imaginarium is a unique all-genre creative writing convention. Its 2017 Guest of Honor is John Gilstrap.

Apex Magazine has donated one Imaginarium membership to Con or Bust, to be claimed during pre-registration.

Sirens, October 26-29, 2017, Vail, CO, USA. Sirens is a conference dedicated to the diverse, remarkable women of fantasy literature: readers, authors, scholars, librarians, educators, publishing professionals, and characters. Its 2016 theme is women who work magic, and its guests of honor are Zoraida Córdova, N. K. Jemisin, and Victoria Schwab.

Sirens has donated three scholarships to Con or Bust (one remains available), which include a full registration to Sirens and a Sirens Shuttle ticket. The registration gives attendees access to everything from Thursday afternoon to Sunday, including all Guest of Honor keynote addresses and accompanying meals. The shuttle ticket covers ground transportation to and from the Denver airport to the Hotel Talisa (more info, including schedule). The scholarships do not include tickets to the pre-conference events of the Sirens Studio and Sirens Supper; transportation to Denver; or hotel costs. These should be claimed by September 23, 2017.
