ARCs of The Mad Scientist’s Daughter by Cassandra Rose Clarke

book coverItem Name & Description: two collectable ARCs of The Mad Scientist’s Daughter by Cassandra Rose Clarke (Feb. 2013).

“Cat, this is Finn. He’s going to be your tutor.”

He looks and acts human, though he has no desire to be. He was programmed to assist his owners, and performs his duties to perfection. A billion-dollar construct, his primary task now is to tutor Cat. As she grows into a beautiful young woman, Finn is her guardian, her constant companion… and more.

But when the government grants rights to the ever-increasing robot population, however, Finn struggles to find his place in the world.

Following her acclaimed Young Adult debut for our sister imprint Strange Chemistry, The Assassin’s Curse, the very talented Cassandra Rose Clarke moves on to more adult themes, in a heartbreaking story of love, loss … and robots.

  1. shygryf, sorry, there was already a $5 bid!

  2. I thought it was the top two bids?

  3. shygryf–okay, now that I think about it, I guess there could be two tie bids and then the next person would have to increase, but that means that (1) bidding would work differently on these posts than anywhere else, which is one kind of confusing, and (2) people would have to count up how many prior bids were the same to tell if they needed to increase, which is another kind of confusing. So, your reaction was perfectly reasonable, but I’m going to exercise my modly powers of moderation-dom and say that bidding still has to increase for posts where the top N bids win. Thank you for forcing me to think this through, however, and I will put a note in the auction information to clarify.

  4. OK, while I’m asking, is there a minimum increase? I’d like to bid $11 as long as that is acceptable

  5. I have never bothered with minimum increases, I figure if it’s a problem, it’s self-correcting, you know? =>

    Thanks for asking!

  6. I’ll bid $15.

  7. Suzanne Rogers Gruber
