Description:

The Time Traveler’s Almanac is the largest and most definitive collection of time travel stories ever assembled. Gathered into one volume by intrepid chrononauts and world-renowned anthologists Ann and Jeff VanderMeer, this book compiles more than a century’s worth of literary travels into the past and the future that will serve to reacquaint readers with beloved classics of the time travel genre and introduce them to thrilling contemporary innovations.

This marvelous volume includes nearly seventy journeys through time from authors such as Douglas Adams, Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, William Gibson, Ursula K. Le Guin, George R. R. Martin, Michael Moorcock, H. G. Wells, and Connie Willis, as well as helpful non-fiction articles original to this volume (such as Charles Yu’s “Top Ten Tips For Time Travelers”).

In fact, this book is like a time machine of its very own, covering millions of years of Earth’s history from the age of the dinosaurs through to strange and fascinating futures, spanning the ages from the beginning of time to its very end. The Time Traveler’s Almanac is the ultimate anthology for the time traveler in your life.

A Spider Robinson lot

Item Name & Description: Three books written or edited by Spider Robinson:

  • The Best of All Possible Worlds, which is an unusual anthology. Spider chose his favorite stories from several authors, and then asked each of those authors to choose one of their favorite stories by someone else to accompany it. Spider wrote introductions for the stories he chose and each of the other authors (except Heinlein, who was recovering from surgery) wrote an introduction for the story they chose. E.g., Spider chose a scene from The Princess Bride, William Goldman chose Sheckley’s “The Seventh Victim” and introduces it.

The book has some wear and spine creasing but is intact. This goes for pretty high prices for a mass-market paperback anthology, so I figure any copy is worthwhile.

  • True Minds, aka Author’s Choice Monthly #12 from Pulphouse. This is an anthology containing stories, poems, and one essay. The cover is browning around the edges (Pulphouse was not known for their excellent book construction) but the interior is fine.
  • Time Pressure, which is more or less a sequel to Mindkiller. Hardcover 1st edition, the jacket has some wear but the book is fine.
